It's going well so far, she's gonna get her way

I've finally decided it's time to look into gathering some signatures and letting Mattel know that people are unhappy about the glue issue, and not only are they unhappy but they're not alone. If you've had your dolls ruined by glue, become sticky, or even lose their hair in clumps from this problem - sign! Let others know they're not alone and let Mattel know their customers are unhappy with these shoddy manufacturing practices!

Mattel: Stop using glue in the manufacturing of dolls!
26th-Oct-2011 06:18 pm - UPS woe

I'm all kinds of ticked off. Apparently '60% off + free shipping on Cyber Monday!' from Mattel means the slowest form of UPS delivery and only one delivery attempt.

i.e. yo ass better be sittin' in that house when the UPS truck comes by.

So, yeah, I was at class when the truck came because I have a life and now I'll have to go collect that at the UPS ... center, whatever, that's downtown. I tried calling customer support at UPS but apparently there's nothing they can do about it except hold it for a few days before shipping it back to Mattel.

So Mattel had a sale and then I found a discount on retailmenot that pulled 15% off my order. And then there was free shipping! So I got two dolls for the price of just one of them at my local Wal*Mart. >.> Yeah I know, I'm bad. Whatever. I'm 10x in love with the 2011 version of Frankie Stein. I didn't like the original but this one's cute!

I swear I'm going to get Lagoona Blue [this ver.] for under $20. Watch me! >.> Although it might not happen until Halloween, possibly even Christmas.

I walked right by the Monster High selection at Wal*Mart several times before I noticed them on Flickr and decided to actually take a look. At first I wasn't really interested (Frankie eh, Cleo eh, Clawdeen .. kind of cute but eh, Draculaura .. cute but not for me) and then I saw Lagoona Blue.

Fuck you, Mattel. :/

She's adorable. I love her face, her fins, everything. Unfortunately Wal*Mart thinks I ought to pay them $30 to own her and some stickers so I said fuck that noise and checked out Ebay.

Slightly better but I think I'll hit up Amazon sales closer to Halloween/Christmas and never mind that $30 crap. I'm not sure Mattel even MAKES anything I'd be willing to pay $30 to own.

End of story, right?

I saw Spectra Vondergeist on Flickr. Now I really hate Mattel AND Flickr. :/ She's definitely on my Christmas wishlist.

Meanwhile, on a slightly more productive side of things, Rikka and I picked up some cloth stock from Wal*Mart and I ordered some Simplicity sewing patterns for Barbie dolls. I've always wanted to make my own Barbie clothes so I picked up the (supposedly) easy patterns and plan to get started as soon as they arrive.

One of the cats fucked up my sewing machine like nobody's business. I need to re-load the entire thing. Again. :|
